Ranch Sitting Service for Alpaca and Llama Owners
Do You Need Time Away? No Worries! Tiffany Miller is a professional, experienced ranch sitter, camelid handler and trainer, small ranch manager and certified Camelidynamics Practitioner.
Daily Ranch Sitting
- Feed/grain/water according to your daily schedule
- Stall cleaning
- Movement of animals in/out of barn/pastures as determined by you
- Feed/water additional animals (barn cat, dog)
- Basic first aid, as needed
- *Communication with your vet and help for your animals in event of an emergency
*Emergencies are handled with the utmost care, respect and professionalism. However, due to the constraints of DAILY CARE (see job description below)I cannot guarantee I will be on ranch at time of emergency. I can guarantee I will deal with it promptly upon arriving.
The Job Tiffany arrives once each day to feed, grain, water, clean stalls and check the health and safety of your animals, including barn cat or guardian dog. She will follow your guidelines and look for any changes in herd health, move animals in and out of pastures/barns and insure gates are secure before leaving.
This is not overnight care, but provides an appropriate level of care for your animals while you take that necessary trip. Length of stay each day is dependent on the size of your ranch. For example, a ranch with 13 animals usually requires about 1 1/2 to 2 hours of work each day for feeding, cleaning, etc.
Contact Tiffany or call 360-254-2163 for availability. References by request, please ask!

Camp Cria
A 6-week weaning and training service meant to provide a safe environment where the cria can run, play and bond with other newly weaned crias while being handled and trained in preparation for the show ring.
The first week that the cria is on ranch everything is low-key. Because being away from mom is scary our focus is to calmy reassure them of their new routine while they are meeting new friends and bonding.
The second week I start hands-on work. I begin slowly with an introduction to handling and work into haltering, leading and using obstacles.
Lessons are three times a week. I work with them in a group.
The fourth week the cria's owners arrive at White Oak Alpacas to participate in a half-day Handler's Class where they will learn about the basics of Camelidynamics, using physics not force, balance and how it relates to handling camelids and safe, comfortable, effective halter fit. The sixth-and final week-culminates in Graduation Day. Depending on the interests of the owners we will have either a Mock Show or Alpaca Confidence Course. This day showcases the animals progress over the six weeks, provides a time for questions and answers and is the day the cria is brought back home. Click here to sign up or for more information!
~Next class starts October 1, 2007

Alpaca and Llama Confidence Course
This is one of my favorite classes to teach and is co-taught with Karin Finch of White Oak Alpacas.
Attend this half-day class and learn how to use the labyrinth, weave poles, jumps and more to build your camelid's confidence in you as a handler.
Using obstacles during training helps teach your animal to focus, think and learn. And, it's a lot of fun! This is a great way to prepare your camelids for show season.
I supply the obstacles. Minimum of 4 handlers and animals. Sign-Up for a class today!
